Thunder Hockey Development Opportunity

OVDGHA is excited to offer the following hockey development opportunity for all 2023/2024 registered Thunder players (competitive and house) with the Renfrew County Kings High Performance Hockey Development program:

Session 1: 7:00 pm-8:00 pm (20 skaters, 3 goalies)
Session 2: 8:00 pm-9:00 pm (20 skaters, 3 goalies)
Program Details
The 1-hour sessions will be structured into three phases for skaters, plus a goalie station:
- 0-20 min Station 1/2
- 21-40 min Station 2/1
- 41-50 min Small Area Game (SAG)
Station 1 - Advanced skating with Stephanie McCullough/Devin Campbell - athletes will develop more efficient inside and outside edges which will allow them to develop more power in their movement. Tactical skating will be introduced to help athletes perform at a faster rate in practice to game transfer scenarios like change of direction, escape pressure, build speed on transition, win small space areas to puck, 1v1 battles.
Station 2 - Advanced skills of puck control, shooting (in stride), checking (wall work) and passing.
Small Area Games: Will be based on the specific technical skills and tactics that athletes worked on during the first 40 min of practice.
Goalie Clinic: Goalie specific instruction with goalie coach

$45 per player
